Protective State (optional)
Use one of the protective states to get your hair as close to the scalp as possible. For more information on the protective state, please visit
Baby Hairs
Baby hairs or even fly always often give away the fact that you are wearing a wig. Nothing is worse than having a few hairs coming out from underneath your “hairline.” To prevent this, use hair pins to secure all baby hairs and any fly aways back from the edge of your natural hairline.
Add Wig Cap (optional)
Find a wig cap that is as close to your natural skin tone as possible. The wig cap is going to give the illusion of a scalp and hide the grid pattern of the lace base.
Cut The Hairline
You may need to cut some of the hair at the hairline of the lace wig to match perfectly with your natural hairline. That is okay, as long as the hairline looks natural. When cutting the lace, go very slowly cutting two inch sections at a time across the front of the hairline. There should be no residual makeup pencil marks remaining after the cutting process.
Put On Lace Wig
Place the lace wig on your head, but leave enough room around the hairline to prep your skin for the adhesive.
Clean The Skin
Using some rubbing alcohol and a cotton ball gently wipe the skin along your hairline. This rids the skin of any excess oils to ensure the adhesives bond to your skin.
Apply Adhesive
Using a Q-Tip or applicator stick, apply a thin line of adhesive directly in front of your natural hairline. As soon as the glue is ready, which will vary depending on the type of glue being used, you can press the lace base down onto the glue with the end of your rat tail comb. Repeat this process in small sections until the lace wig is fully secured to your head.
Adjustments
If any adjustments need to be made, use lace wig adhesive remover to remove the adhesive before making the proper adjustment.
Deje que el pegamento se seque
How long this takes will depend on the type of adhesive used
Clean up
